Heated One-Touch Programmable wrist controller

In any season, in any environment, at any elevation – new Harley-Davidson Heated One-Touch Programmable gear offers the motorcycle rider fingertip control of customizable comfort. Neck-to-toe warmth is provided by pre-programed heat settings selected with a wireless control worn on the wrist. It’s the most convenient and sophisticated heated gear ever offered by Harley-Davidson. It is available in four liner options: jacket, pants, glove and socks, that can be worn together yet controlled independently.

Men’s Heated One-Touch Programmable Plug-In 12V Jacket Liner

A new Men’s Heated One-Touch Programmable Plug-In 12V Jacket Liner (P/N 98346-15VM, $425.00 size XS to 3XL) is the foundation of the system. This packable liner is powered by the motorcycle charging system, and has seven large heating panels (two chest, two back, two sleeve, and one collar) with infrared technology that generates immediate heat to penetrate the body for deep warmth. A wireless controller included with the jacket is worn on the wrist over a jacket sleeve and used to control heat settings with just a finger tap. The wrist controller pairs with a receiver within the jacket and enables temperature adjustment to one of five customizable heat levels the rider can pre-program. This liner can be worn as a casual jacket and is trim enough to wear as a bulk-free mid-layer. Stretch expansion panels on the sides, sleeves, and back shoulders enhance range of motion and reduce bulk. The jacket comes with a charger cable for the wrist controller, the garment receiver inside the jacket, and a complete motorcycle battery connecting harness.

For additional comfort and coverage, the Jacket Liner can be combined with Men’s Heated One-Touch Programmable Plug-In 12V Glove Liners (P/N 98347-15VM, $95.00 size S, L and 2XL), Men’s Heated One-Touch Programmable Plug-In 12V Pant Liner (P/N 98384-15VM, $295.00 size XS to 3XL) and the Men’s Heated One-Touch Programmable Plug-In 12V Sock Liner (P/N 98385-15VM, $125.00 size S to 2XL). Coaxial plugs on the jacket liner and pant liner cuffs power the glove and sock liners, but the heat level of each heat One-Touch Programmable garment can be adjusted independently with the wrist controller. For example, it’s possible to select more heat in the fingers and less in the torso.

Each Heated Programmable One Touch garment is backed by a three-year warranty.

Harley-Davidson Parts and Accessories: New for November

Harley-Davidson Genuine Parts and Accessories has another great batch of new products for you this November! Fog light mount kits for your Road Glide, distressed saddlebags, and new High Flow Exhaust! Check the details below and click the link for more information!

Harley-Davidson Distressed Leather Saddlebags for Sportster Models (P/N 90201306, $659.95)

Certain to gain character with each road trip, the new Black Distressed Leather Saddlebags (P/N 90201306, $659.95) from Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories are designed to add rugged style and luggage capacity to most 1994-later Sportster models. The combination of heavy die-cast buckles and rich black leather with a distressed finish give these bags a dose of attitude that will especially complement Dark Custom styling and customizing. Quick-disconnect clips under the buckles permit easy access to bag contents. Combined capacity is 2,000 cubic inches. Installation may require the separate purchase of a model-specific turn signal relocation kit, and these bags may not be compatible with other accessories. See an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer or go to H-D.com for fitment details.

Screamin’ Eagle High Flow Exhaust System with Street Cannons (P/N 64800043 Chrome, P/N 64800044 Black, $1,299.95)

Screamin’ Eagle High Flow Exhaust System with Street Cannons

Bolt on a menacing tone and gain factory-tuned Touring-motor muscle with the new Screamin’ Eagle High Flow Exhaust System with Street Cannons (P/N 64800043 Chrome, P/N 64800044 Black, $1,299.95) from Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories. Optimized for Screamin’ Eagle Stage Kit engine configurations, the Screamin’ Eagle High-Flow Exhaust system provides bolt-on performance by reducing the catalyst restriction and improving exhaust flow. This Screamin’ Eagle-engineered exhaust system produces a 6-plus horsepower gain on a Stage I High Output 103 engine and an 8-plus horsepower gain over a Stage II High Output 103 engine when compared to the Stage kit upgrades with the factory header system.

The kit replaces the stock head pipe and mufflers with large-diameter, free-flowing head pipes and matching Street Cannon mufflers. The muffler inlet diameter is increased to 2.25 inches to enhance exhaust gas scavenging and the catalysts are relocated to the mufflers to enhance flow. The 4-inch-diameter Street Cannon mufflers are tuned to provide a deep bass exhaust note and a healthy rumble at idle, and that famous Harley sound throughout the RPM range. The mufflers are EPA stamped and the system is 50-state legal and CARB approved. This High Flow Exhaust System fits 2010-later Harley-Davidson Touring models but does not fit Trike models. Separate purchase of Screamin’ Eagle 4-inch muffler end caps and ECM recalibration (priced separately) is required.

Road Glide LED Fog Lamp Mount Kit (P/N 68000183 Chrome, P/N 68000184 Gloss Black; $99.95)

Road Glide LED Fog Lamp Mount Kit

See and be seen with the new Road Glide LED Fog Lamp Mount Kit (P/N 68000183 Chrome, P/N 68000184 Gloss Black; $99.95) from Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories. Designed for 2015-later Road Glide motorcycles, this elegant mount replaces the Original Equipment turn signal mount and positions Daymaker Reflector LED Fog Lamps (sold separately) and the turn signals close to the fairing for an uncluttered profile. Daymaker Reflector LED Fog Lamps provide a supplemental pool of brilliant white light in front of the motorcycle. This kit will accommodate Original Equipment or accessory bullet turn signals and includes the left and right mounts and all required hardware.

Harley-Davidson Slim S Project: New Lighting

Alright guys so for the first part of this project I have installed a few of my personal favorite upgrades. I threw on the H-D Daymaker headlight along with the Daymaker LED auxiliary lights wrapped in the black auxiliary housing kit. An extremely easy upgrade are the smoked lenses and they make a huge difference in styling. Harley’s bullet style turn signals are a great design, making a sleek styled unit, but still with a decent face large enough to get other motorist’s attention. Getting rid of the unpleasant orange lens makes the entire unit perfect. Not only do the blacked out LED Daymakers look amazing, they light up the whole damn world! We took one of many happy customer’s reviews off of Harley-Davidson.com. DeDog of Michigan says: “By far some of the best money I have spent for my own safety. This provides much better night vision as well as daylight visibility for other drivers. Looks great too. I would purchase again without hesitation.”

Adding just the headlight dramatically improves the field of visibility at night, but adding the two auxiliary lights as well lights up so much more of the road ahead of you. The trio makes an extremely wide beam of highly focused white light. You don’t have to worry about not being seen at night with these lights that is for sure. I installed the same setup on my personal Road King years ago when Harley first introduced them and have been an advocate of them ever since. Continuing with the lighting system I also installed Harley’s black flush-mounted fuel gauge and gas cap. I also installed flush-mount system on my personal Road King years ago.

By far some of the best money I have spent for my own safety. This provides much better night vision as well as daylight visibility for other drivers. Looks great too. I would purchase again without hesitation.
Review by DeDog of Michigan

The Slim S comes off the showroom floor all blacked out already but adding these minor additions brings the blacked out vibe to life even more, which you may have figured out, is exactly my style. I have more installs coming so keep your eyes peeled. So how many of you out there foresaw this upgrade? I am sure there are a few of you who guessed it right away. We still have more to come so keep submitting your thoughts, we do read them and I find it interesting the direction some of you think I am going with this project.

2016 Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S Review

I have been riding the new 2016 Harley-Davidson Slim S for about a week now and I’m having a blast riding Harley’s new Softail muscle cruiser. First things first, it has a great look to it. It is already all blacked out and I love the cleanliness of it: Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Just a solo seat, nice clean chopped fender and the fact that features H-D’s throttle-by-wire setup and a hydraulic clutch to keep the bars looking nice and sanitary, the Slim S comes standard with cruise control, which is great for highway cruising.

What is there to say about the motor…. It is fast! The Slim S is the lightest bike that Harley has put the 110ci Twin Cam motor in. It is also the first, along with the Fat Boy S, to get the 110 motor without being a CVO. The Slim S comes in at 712 pounds. Pair that with the 109 lb-ft torque and you have a little rocket ship on your hands–for a Harley cruiser at least. The 110 motor slamming those big pistons up and down is bound to increase vibration, but the Softail lineup is equipped with Harley-Davidson’s Twin Cam B motor (counterbalanced). The 110 Twin Cam B engine does a great job of removing vibration just as its smaller motor siblings do.

Like everything though, there’s no such thing as a perfect motorcycle. We understand for styling purposes Harley wants the bike to sit lower, 28.2″ seat height to be exact, but it is so low that on damn near every somewhat-aggressive turn we end up scraping the floorboards. And with these floorboards, when you make contact with the pavement, you’re compromising the floorboard itself, not just the cheap replaceable peg scrapers found on some of Harley’s other models. That can get costly to the owner replacing ground down floorboards all the time. That said, if you’re planning on tearing up the tarmac in the canyons, prepare for some serious sparks in the turns.

Also, If you get caught in the city in stop-and-go traffic, be prepared for a warm-in-the-saddle ride. Being a large air-cooled motor, it is expected, but at idle your nether regions will be cooking for sure. Keep the shorts in the drawer when taking this one out for a downtown breakfast cruise.

I’m also feeling a little lukewarm about the stock handlebars with a 6.87″ rise and 6.63″ pullback. I am at my most comfortable with at least a 12-inch handlebar. It’s been said that taller bars cause you to lose feeling in your hands and have discomfort in shoulders, etc., but for me I have discomfort in my elbows with just about all stock bars. The Slim S stock bars aren’t hurting my elbows yet, but my personal preference would be to run a taller bar… hint-hint!

The position of the bike is comfortable. At 6-feet tall I’m a big fan of floorboards with heel-toe shifters. I know for some folks the heel-toe shifters are distracting and hard to get used to, but I’ve been riding Harleys for a while and I’ve grown very fond of the heel-toe shifters, especially since I am not a fan of forward controls except in floorboard form.

Speaking of making some changes based on personal preference, I thumbed through Harley-Davidson’s gargantuan parts bible of accessories, the Harley-Davidson Genuine Accessories Catalog, and ordered a long list of parts that I think will make the already-cool Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S that much cooler. Stay tuned for more!

Harley-Davidson Crowns Custom King

The king has been crowned. Alex Stewart, of Yellowstone Harley-Davidson in Belgrade, Mont. earned bragging rights and a new motorcycle-customization royalty designation – the first-ever U.S. Custom King. Stewart and his dealership’s build team assembled the winning “Next Generation Board Track Racer” as part of the inaugural Harley-Davidson Custom Kings competition.

Customization is one of the unique ways riders celebrate their individuality. The U.S. Custom Kings competition focused on redefining performance through the customization expertise and ingenuity of Harley-Davidson dealers throughout the country, using the Street 750 motorcycle as the perfect canvas.

Nearly 100 U.S. dealerships entered the bike build-off battle featuring the Harley-Davidson Street 750 motorcycle. The entries from finalists in each of the country’s seven markets, were voted on by their peers at the company’s recent annual dealer meeting. The six finalists vying with Stewart for the title and customization supremacy were:
Led by Nick Celenza, Brian’s Harley-Davidson, Langhorne, Pa.
Led by Brett Sassaman, Harley-Davidson of Macon, Macon, Ga.
Led by Jeff Musat, Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, Scottsdale, Ariz.
Led by Kevin Winters, Lake Shore Harley-Davidson, Libertyville, Ill.
Led by Doug O’Neal, Loess Hills Harley-Davidson, Pacific Junction, Iowa
Led by Bruce Downs, Ray Price Harley-Davidson, Raleigh, N.C.

Yellowstone Harley-Davidson’s winning Street 750 makes its first public appearance in Milwaukee at Custom Bike Show Weekend Sept. 5-6 at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The motorcycle, which drew inspiration from the board track racers from the 1920s and 1930s, will then move inside the Museum main lobby where it will be on display.
